Who You Are Matters

 Where I come from: 

I come from a small town in Northern California that not many people have heard of. I usually just tell people I am from the Bay Area (which is highlighted on the map) because it is easier and I feel it doesn’t tie me down to one specific place. 

Where I'm going:

After graduating, my plan is to stay in Los Angeles and start my career in marketing with a company called Million Dollar Baby Co.

How I am going to get there:

I plan on getting there with a lot of hard work and patience.

How I am LIKE my parents:

I like to say I am not like my parents at all. But people say I look like my mom and act like my dad. I don’t see it but maybe as I continue to grow it will become apparent to me. My dad and I are both business people. I enjoy creating new DIY crafts with my mom.

How I am UNLIKE my parents:

I don’t think I am like my parents at all. I’m not trying to say this like a bad thing, but I do not see any obvious similarities between us.

Have I developed my own expectations?

I develop my own expectations for myself. I don’t like to listen to others' standards of who I should be. I am who I am for me. I won’t listen to others because then I wouldn’t like myself very much. I have to make sure I am happy with myself before I make sure others are happy with me. Why should I live by someone else’s expectations when they are not the one paying my bills or buying me groceries. At the end of the day, I am the only one who has my back 1,000% of the time so I need to make sure I am living up to my own expectations.

Who serves as a model in my life?

There is a Sports Agent named Nicole Lynn whom I admire greatly. She is one of the only African American Female Sports Agents who represents some of the recent top football players. She was also one of the youngest sports agents. While being a sports agent, she also practices law. I admire her because of how powerful she has become at a young age. She has the passion and drive I practice to gain. Getting into the sports industry is not easy, but she has done that and so much more. 

The wild animal I am connected to:

I see myself as a lion because I have a lot of hair and see it as my mane. Although the female lions do not have manes, I can't think of another animal that has a lot of hair like mine.

A significant childhood encounter with a tree or plant:

When I was little and had a lot of free time I tried to make my own garden at home. Although I didn’t really know what I was doing, I enjoyed doing it and I still carry my passion for gardening.
